Walter Taché focuses his practice on the health care industry, working with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physician practices, assisting with regulatory and operational issues, civil litigation, and governmental and internal investigations.
Mr. Taché’s clients include over 50 different hospitals and other health care facilities. He serves as a “go-to” counsel for one of the largest healthcare companies in the country.
In the regulatory and operational practice, Mr. Taché advises clients regarding issues such as Health Information Privacy, the Health Care Quality Improvement Act, the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA), medical staff issues, physician discipline, credentialing, peer review, and other medical review committee functions. Stephen J. Bronis, Partner
Stephen Bronis concentrates his practice on complex litigation, including financial fraud, business fraud, federal program fraud, health care fraud, securities fraud and regulatory fraud, and abuse cases.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Bronis served as Chief of the Felony Division of the Dade County Public Defenders Office. In 1998, he was nominated to become a justice of the Florida Supreme Court. MORE

Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Christianson worked in the healthcare industry in a variety of roles. Above all, she has a passion for healthcare and enjoys helping the patients her clients serve.

Marissel Descalzo, Partner
Marissel Descalzo is a trial attorney and focuses her practice on complex criminal and civil litigation in both federal and state court. Ms. Descalzo has participated in numerous trials to verdict. Ms. Descalzo handles criminal and civil matters of vital importance to clients’ businesses or their personal lives. She represents individuals and organizations accused of fraud and/or deceptive practices, and assists and advises organizations on corporate governance and compliance matters, including in the area of anti-money laundering. Ms. Descalzo represents hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, pharmacies, and other health care providers, during government investigations and defends them in qui tam (whistle-blower) actions. Ms. Descalzo regularly counsels companies from a variety of industries on the adoption and operation of their compliance programs and, in particular, assists companies in the food and beverage industry with internal investigations and ethics issues. Paul Ray Borr, Partner
Paul Borr focuses his practice on complex civil litigation in state and federal court. He has particular experience representing health care facilities and health care providers in litigation matters, particularly matters related to patient privacy and Article X, Section 25 of the Florida Constitution, more commonly known as Amendment 7.
Mr. Borr graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law where he was awarded membership in The Order Of The Coif and named to the University of Miami Law Review. He is licensed as a Health Care Risk Manager in the state of Florida. MORE
Gavrila A. Brotz, Partner
Gavrila Brotz focuses her practice on health care litigation, business and contract disputes, and provides trial and appellate support.
As part of her business litigation practice, she handles general commercial litigation cases that involve issues including business torts, breach of contract disputes, and statutory claims. Ms. Brotz has assisted in the defense of healthcare facilities in various class action and individual claims alleging breach of data privacy and data security issues.
Ms. Brotz is part of a team of lawyers that handles strategic issues for healthcare providers to protect data created under various medical quality review functions. She assists healthcare facilities and practitioners in addressing requests for information sought under Article X, section 25 of the Florida Constitution, commonly known as Amendment 7, The Patients’ Right to Know about Adverse Medical Incidents. As part of her practice, Ms. Brotz has appeared throughout the State of Florida, litigating before the Courts regarding how to interpret the constitutional provision and its effects on discovery, use, and admissibility of such materials. Magda C. Rodriguez, Partner
Magda Rodriguez represents a variety of health care entities, including health systems, hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and physician practices. She counsels these health care entities in operational and regulatory matters, litigation avoidance and provides representation in civil litigation and government investigations.
Ms. Rodriguez has experience in medical billing and insurance claims. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Rodriguez worked for a physician practice resolving insurance disputes and denials of claims. She also assisted the physician practice with its compliance with the regulatory requirements of HIPAA which were evolving at the time.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Rodriguez was an intern in the legal department of a Fortune 100 healthcare company. MORE
Jessica Melendez, Partner
Jessica Melendez focuses her practice on the health care industry. She assists health care entities such as hospitals, health systems and physician practices in operational and regulatory matters, government and internal investigations and litigation.
Ms. Melendez has a wide-range of experience in the health care industry. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Melendez received a bachelor’s degree in Health and Societies with a concentration in Health Policy and Law. She also interned for the general counsel of one of the largest hospitals in Puerto Rico. While in law school, Ms. Melendez worked in the legal department of a national health care solutions company, interned for the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals, and participated in a clinic which assisted indigent clients with obtaining health care benefits.
